The New England Patriots are on a roll, having won five consecutive games, including a 28-16 victory over the Houston Texans that secured their spot in the AFC Championship for the first time since 2018. But not everything went smoothly in the win, as the Patriots suffered a significant injury blow during the game.

Carlton Davis Injury Update
Cornerback Carlton Davis, an eight-year veteran, was having one of his best games of the season, picking off two passes — his first two of the year — and recording four solo tackles. However, Davis was forced to leave the game with a possible concussion, putting his availability for the AFC Championship game in question. The Patriots will be monitoring his condition closely as they prepare for their matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Mack Hollins Still on Injured Reserve
On the offensive side, the Patriots are still without wide receiver Mack Hollins, who has been sidelined with an abdominal injury. Hollins, who was signed in the offseason to a two-year, $8.4 million contract, has been a crucial target for quarterback Drake Maye, catching 46 passes for 550 yards and two touchdowns this season. Hollins has also been an important blocker and locker room leader, earning the nickname “Tarzan” for his physical presence and shoe-less habit off the field.
However, Hollins has not played since Week 16, and the Patriots have not disclosed the specifics of his abdominal injury. Coach Mike Vrabel confirmed on Wednesday that Hollins would not be practicing, casting doubt on whether he will be available for Sunday’s game in Denver.
